Alberta Northwest Territories
Youth Network

Welcome to the new Alberta Northwest Territories Youth Network.

Encapsulating all registered Scouts in Alberta and Northwest Territories, we are an initiative of Scouts Canada for youth to work cohesively with one another.

Run by the council youth commissioner, area youth commissioners, group youth commissioners, company youth commissioners, and troupe leaders, we take on strong mentor leadership roles that feed youth into becoming strong leaders themselves.

Youth enjoy amazing adventures while learning leadership and socialization skills to be better prepared for success in the world.

We help them follow the Canadian Path by offering youth leadership training from Beavers to Rovers, where they will be immersed in learning the ropes of the Scouting movement.

Though the youth council, Scouts attain:

  • Leadership development
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Communication and public speaking skills
  • Information technology
  • Accountability
  • Employability
  • Project and time management
  • Volunteer hours

Our territory spans province-wide, 20 kilometres south of Red Deer and as far north to include Northwest Territories. Included in our 23 service areas are the cities of Edmonton, St. Albert, Grande Prairie, and Yellowknife--as well as dozens of small communities and rural centres.
