You will be introduced to the Scouter Development Maps and resources that are available to you to help develop your skills and knowledge of the Canadian Path – which is how we implement the Scouting program. Sounds formal – but we make it fun. During the session, you will be assigned into small groups (patrols) to learn about all the support that is available to you to ensure you have the tools to create exciting Scouting adventures for the youth.
What is a mentor? We are often asked to mentor those around us, whether they be youth or new Scouters, but what exactly is a mentor, and how can you be the best possible mentor? Our Partners at Mentorship Canada have the answers you are seeking. Mentor Canada was launched in 2019 by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, the Alberta Mentoring Partnership and the Ontario Mentoring Coalition. Their orientation covers the basics of mentoring. They discuss the importance of mentoring, the role of the mentor, and what kind of support you can expect from your mentoring program. You will also learn how to build a positive mentoring relationship. No matter your experience as a mentor, this session promises to give you valuable resources to help your community grow and succeed.
Activities for your Scouts for Sustainability adventures!” We will help you find activities to do with your youth that will peak their interest in all things Scouts for Sustainability and Ocean Awareness.
Let us Ask the youth! After all, it is their program. Join some of the most articulate and insightful youth Scouts Canada has for a panel discussion. The youth panel is the perfect opportunity to ask youth the important questions. Each panel will be centred around a theme that is relevant in the scouting world today. We guarantee you will leave the forum energized with new ideas for your section.

Do you have the Les Stroud skills needed to survive for a week in a remote location? No? We will teach you… or at least we will teach you some of the fundamental skills to survive Scout camp. Oh, and we will help prep your Section for the upcoming weeks of the Spring into Adventure Survival Challenge. You'll walk away more confident in your abilities in core Scouting skills like fire lighting, knot tying, and more. After the skills night, you will be racing to share your new skills with your Section's youth and fellow Scouters.
